Five tries from centre Martin RODNEY Slater helped miners u17s book a place in the last four of the NWC Cup. Miners scored four tries in the first half with Martin Slater scoring a hat trick along with a try from his left winger Nick Boardman giving the lads a 16-12 half time lead.

In the second half miners played some nice rugby scoring six further tries, Slater grabbing two more to take his tally to five. Jonathan Ogden, Danny Balmer, Jason Bellemy & Ryan Monaghan grabbing a try each giving miners a 40-12 victory.

Martin Slater was Man Of The Match with an excellent five try display.
