Leigh Miners u18s 6 v 4 Crosfields u18s
Leigh Miners u18s made it through to the final of the NWC Cup with a narrow 6-4 home victory against Crosfields to continue the clubs long run of u18s teams appearing in a final each season. Miners scored the only try of the first half with centre Sam Shepard finishing a well worked try to score in the corner, Shepard converting from the touchline to give miners a 6-0 half time advantage.
Crosfields scored the only try of the second half to bring the score to 6-4, and thats how it stayed to send the u18s into the NWC Cup Final after a very close physical encounter. It was an excellent team performance with Steven Meadows and Todd Appleby the stand out players for miners.
The Final of the NWC Cup will be played on Sunday 11th April at Edge Hill University were the u18s will play Wigan St Judes.
Next weekend the u18s are away to Wigan St Pats in the first round of the National Cup. |
