Leigh Miners Rangers are one of the most respected amateur rugby league clubs in the country, with a proud history of producing talented players who go on to make a name for themselves in the professional game such as Tommy Martyn, Denis Betts and more recently eleven of the current Leigh Centurions‘ Northern Rail Cup winning squad.

At Junior and open age level we have considerable success in the league and cup competitions, having reached the third round of the Challenge Cup for all bar one of the last six seasons nad currently competing at open age in the National Conference League Premier Division, the highest level of the amateur game in this country.

Directions – Take the A580 (St Helens-Liverpool) off M62. At first roundabout on A580 ( approx 6 miles), take the third exit past the Greyhound hotel onto Warrington Road. Bear left over the bridge and through the lights, and travel approximately one and a half miles into Twist Lane, going over two sets of traffic lights. In approximately 400 yards turn left into Kirby Road, Leigh Miners Welfare Club.

Or, From the M6, take junction 23 onto the A580 (Manchester), In approx 8 miles, turn left at lights onto A572, and continue down,For approximatley 2 miles ( through 1 set of Traffic lights) coming up to The Leigh Sports Village on your left,5th exit at the roundabout, onto Twist Lane, then first right into Kirby Road, Leigh Miners Welfare Institute.
